Listed below are the minimum requirements a student must complete to earn a Mason High School diploma.Each student must participate in all state-approved assessment programs and earn at least 27.5 credits in grades 8-12 to includethe following: English – 4 credits Þ1 credit in Freshman English Þ1 credit in Sophomore English Þ1 credit in Junior English Þ1 credit in Senior English
Math – 4 credits Þ1 credit in Algebra I Þ1 credit in Geometry Þ1 credit in Algebra II Þ1 credit in a math or math-related course with at least ½ credit earned during their final year Science – 3 credits Þ1 credit in Biological Science Þ1 credit in Physics or Integrated Science Þ1 credit in Chemistry
*Social Studies – 3 credits Þ1 credit in U.S. History Þ½ credit in U.S. Civics Þ1 credit in World History Þ½ credit in Economics
Computer Education – ½ credit ÞStudents must complete a ½ credit Information Technology course between 8th and 12th grades ÞAll students must participate in at least 20 hours of an online learning experience between 6th and 12th grades
*Physical Education – 1 credit Þ½ credit in Introduction to Physical Education (Freshman Year) Þ½ credit Physical Education elective
*Visual, Performing and Applied Arts – 1 credit
Electives – 11 credits
